Ethan got his first haircut the other day!! I actually trimmed his little "wings" back in January, but it wasn't very noticeable. Jared and I wanted to take him somewhere he would feel comfortable and where they were used to dealing with children. We found a place called Snip-Its that was great except for their prices. His haircut cost $20!!! I'm sorry but my haircuts don't even cost that much.

The lady that cut his hair was great! She was so patient and took her time to make sure she did a good job even though the store had already closed and she still had one more person after us to get to. After the haircut they give the kids a card to put into a machine at the front and they get a prize! Ethan really enjoyed that and went looking for anything card-like to put back in so he could get more prizes. My little boy looks so handsome and grown up with his haircut, but I can't wait for his wings to grow back!

Jared and I also decided that with the new edition coming Ethan needed to start getting used to sleeping in a regular bed, that and he figured out how to flip himself out of the crib. Our plan was to wait and get him a twin bed for his birthday and start getting him used to being without his crib then, but with talks from some friends, I started to think that maybe we should do it now. We didn't get him a twin bed yet-that's still a birthday thing-but we turned his crib into a toddler bed to help him transition. He's so excited to be able to get in and out of his bed all by himself. Something I was hoping he wouldn't realize so soon, but what can you do? The first night was really confusing for Ethan. He cried and got out of bed constantly. He quickly figured out how to open his door and would stand at the gate crying until someone came to put him back. There was lots of laying on the futon across from him on Jared's part that night. Yes I made Jared take the first couple of nights!! He was going to be up playing video games anyway so why not? After the first night Jared was trying to figure out why we're doing this now, but I think that if we didn't start this soon we'd have more trouble later. Oh and I'm always right about everything... It's true! Even Jared admits it from time to time.

Ethan's second night in his bed went much better-in my opinion. Jared says it was a little better than his first, but not much. We discovered that night that Ethan doesn't like his door to be shut all the way, so now everything is peachy-knock on wood. As long as you wait for him to be ready to go to sleep and leave the door ajar he's good. Although he now gets up at 6-6:30 in the morning. That's going to take some getting used to-for me anyway.
